The Dog Days

The earths tilt is a direct result of the summer heat. When heat and humidity numbers exceed the normal temperatures for 3-5 days or more this heat wave is known as the dogs days of summer.

Occurring in the latter of July and early August, Sirus the brightest of the night stars in the Canis Major constellation is at its closest to the earth, hence from which it name comes. In ancient times different cultures saw different images when they drew the connecting dots of night stars.

In New York city the heat on the streets can be staggering.
