Voyeur in Photography

"One who looks" is how the French term voyeur is described.  Ordinarily applied to males who
observes someone through their window not necessarily a private place, with sexual interest or spying
intimate behavoir. This brought about the label"Peeping Tom" as applied to the Lady Godiva legend.

Where is becomes interesting with regards to photography is the principal characteristic of voyeurism
is that the voyeur does not normally relate directly with the subject of his or her interest, unaware of
being observed at times.  Voyeurism can also include the making of a secret photograph.

However, in todays society the concept of voyeurism has evolved, especially in popular culture.  Non-
pornographic reality television programs are prime examples of voyeurism, where the viewer
( the voyeur) is granted  interaction with the subject.

In this particular photograph of an asian barber shop someone is slumped in a  chair sleeping or
not, , ?  The startled looked of the other barber gives question to just witnessing something
voyeuristic or perhaps something more sinister.
