How things appear visually matters. It did throughout my childhood , as well as with the places I have worked and the photographers I have assisted. Wherever there is a window I make certain to maintain the best view. For me it is sensibilities at work.
As a professional many times the photograph is made. Making a photograph just right can take time especially when the object of interest is stationary. You move closer, back off, change lens, the bird or worm angle of view, recompose, crop now or later, selective focus, details,details and more,,,
When it feels right and looks right do I press the button. In the end I'm often surprised as to what objects find their place in my photographic settings.
