Today in photography history


Chuck Close painter/photographer celebrates a birthday today. Born 1947,in Monroe,Washington.

The Frenchman Louis- Jacques Mande invented the process in 1839, which some credit as the first photographic process.

Chuck Close is well know for his massive scale prints, 107.2 in. X 83.5 in.
In addition to his severer paralyzation, Chuck Close suffers from Prosopagnosia, also know as face blindness, in which he is unable to recognize faces.  Close chose to concentrate on portraiture, as a means to help him remember faces.
